The mold industry has been developing in China for many years, but it is limited by various factors. Although we currently occupy the majority of mold production and processing orders worldwide, there is still a huge gap compared to developed countries.

Domestic mold steel has always been a short board, and high-performance molds rely heavily on imports. There are also gaps in heat treatment processes, processing, and installation methods, resulting in the overall technology of our country's molds being unable to compare with international advanced technologies, with a gap value of over 30%.
The same mold structure and process can be seen in the number of mold repairs and service life. Frequent repairs lead to decreased mold accuracy, reduced production efficiency, and increased maintenance costs, resulting in the inability to gain a competitive advantage in the high-end market.
For precision molds, a higher technical foundation and core technical points are required compared to conventional molds. Due to China's long-term focus on cost reduction and lack of emphasis on core technology development, the development of the mold industry has continued to progress slowly for many years.
Each enterprise is fighting on its own, without division of labor, cooperation, and refinement of processes. Large and comprehensive enterprises still dominate, unable to form a competitive advantage together, resulting in overall technological level lagging behind foreign countries. Even the level of commonly used standard parts for the simplest molds is far behind foreign countries.
For precision stamping mold design, there are many key core technologies. Always stagnant. At present, mold design in China is still in the primary and intermediate (exploratory) stages, lacking core technical support and funding for research and development. It has been using old methods and models for decades.
With the continuous updating of die technology in the world, stamping dies in developed countries have transformed from the original single die to the multi material belt multi process composite die process.
However, our country is in the primary or blank stage for ultra large precision molds, ultra high speed stamping molds, ultra-thin, ultra strong, and small products, lacking relevant technical parameters and equipment.
